The Residential Supervisor reports to the Residential Director and plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations and quality of services in the Transitional Living Program, Emergency Shelters, and Youth Experiencing Homelessness programs. The position involves providing leadership to staff, ensuring program compliance, and contributing to the overall success of residential programs.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Directly supervise and manage the day-to-day operations of the Transitional Living Program, Emergency Shelters, and Youth Experiencing Homelessness program.
- Ensures the quality of services in each program, overseeing program milestones, deliverables, and implementing strategies for continuous improvement.
- Implements new policies and procedures outlined by DCFS or DHS.
- Understands the various funding streams and maintains a census and understands the importance of the utilization of the program.
- Represents the programs within the community.
- Responsible for assisting the coordinators of each program with scheduling house staff to maintain consistent coverage, maintaining an external registry, and overseeing overall needs of assigned house/program to ensure proper functioning.
- Provides and documents crisis interventions as needed within 24 hours of incident.
- Will oversee COA, DCFS, DHS, and Medicaid Compliance.
- Provides information to outside agencies as requested to coordinate and assure the appropriateness of additional services if needed.
- Will participate in interview process for recruitment of new staff, providing input and feedback regarding hiring decisions.
- Responsible for coordinating and leading team meetings to discuss progress toward goals, barriers to success and training needs for house/program staff, as well as meetings for clients, to address concerns, provide support, and improve quality of care.
- Other duties as assigned by the Residential Director.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in social services.
- Skills in Program and Personnel Management, Supervision, and Client Services.
- Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of Shelter’s mission, vision, and values.
- Must have a valid Illinois driver’s license, automobile, and must submit proof of Illinois auto insurance.
- Must complete a Medical and T.B. test. Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to the latest CDC guidelines.
- Must be fingerprinted by the State of Illinois and must submit to a full Background Check through the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.
- Must submit official educational transcripts from the last school in which a degree was awarded
