We are seeking motivated and passionate college students majoring in business, education, and social work to join us as After School Program Teaching Assistants. As a Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced educators and contribute to the development of Chicago’s youth.
About Us: Dreamchasers United NFP is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering inner-city students in Chicago Public High Schools through an innovative after-school program. Our program focuses on providing essential skills in financial literacy, entrepreneurship, mental health, and workforce readiness. We believe in equipping students with the knowledge and tools necessary for success beyond the classroom.
Responsibilities:
- Classroom Support:
- Assist lead educators in implementing engaging and interactive lessons on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, mental health, and workforce readiness.
- Provide individualized support to students, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Student Mentorship:
- Serve as a mentor and role model to inner-city students, inspiring and guiding them towards academic and personal success.
- Facilitate discussions on career aspirations, goal setting, and personal development.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Support the organization’s administrative activities, gaining valuable experience in nonprofit management.
- Assist in program coordination, including event planning and logistics.
- Feedback and Improvement:
- Collaborate with the program team to assess and enhance the effectiveness of educational modules.
- Provide constructive feedback to help refine teaching methods and materials.
Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in a college or university with a major in business, social work or education.
- Passion for education, youth empowerment, and community development.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to a dynamic environment.
- Prior experience in teaching, mentoring, or community outreach is a plus.
