On Thursday, September 28th, Dominican University held the Fall 2023 Career Fair. This event marked a significant milestone for our students’ professional development, with over 320 students in attendance. We were joined by 26 wonderful employers across many industries. The Office of Career Programs & Employer Relations would like to extend a special thank you to our sponsors: Big Shoulders Fund, Bosch, DHJJ, Discover, Guggenheim, IAA, Morningstar, Paylocity, and Wintrust. Their support made this exciting event possible.
Hosted in Parmer Atrium, the Career Fair was set up with individual employer tables organized into rows by industry. This format encouraged students to talk with a variety of employers, strengthening their professional speaking skills and increasing their networks for future internships and jobs. Graduating seniors discussed full-time positions, sophomores and juniors discovered internship opportunities, and first-year students were introduced to the world of professional possibilities available to them during and after their time at Dominican.
Congratulations to Viviana Paz, a freshman majoring in entrepreneurship, for winning the Career Fair raffle! The raffle prize included a DU-branded backpack, padfolio (perfect for future fairs!), water bottle, and umbrella. When asked about her experience at the Career Fair, Viviana commented on her conversations with employers. “As a freshman, I was told that now is a great time to start.” She said. “[The employers] gave me application timelines, and I can start as soon as next semester. They also had recommendations for certifications that I can obtain.”
