The Minority Association of Pre-Medical Students (MAPS) represents the post-baccalaureate and undergraduate pre-health students of The Student National Medical Association (SNMA). This organization seeks to provide guidance and support to pre-health students through professional exposure, mentoring opportunities, and community outreach programs.
MAPS programs and initiatives provide pre-health students with the necessary knowledge, skills and experience that are both paramount and concomitant to professional participation in a diverse physician workforce in medical education, research, and public health.
MAPS is committed to the recognition and resolution of health care disparities in under-represented and under-served communities. This organization will participate in service to the under-served and under-represented communities of the world, both locally and nationally in order to improve quality of life. MAPS seeks to participate in increasing the number of clinically excellent, culturally competent, and socially conscious physicians.
