CRIMINOLOGY: (DCDP 301 01) PRESENTING YOURSELF PROFESSIONALLY

The emphasis in this course is on strong oral communication skills. Students strengthen these skills by mastering Aristotle’s three components of effective rhetorical speaking: ethos, logos, and pathos. In addition, students advance their job-search skills to include the targeting of specific employers and turning an internship into a full-time offer. Along with multiple opportunities to receive feedback on their oral communication skills, students deliver a professional presentation as part of their final. Prerequisite(s): Criminology major, Sociology major, criminology minor, sociology minor or consent of the department chair
