Free ACCA Biology Seminar EVENT at Morton Arboretum

Dominican University is part of a consortium of regional colleges and universities in the Chicagoland area called ACCA (Associated Colleges of the Chicagoland Area). We are excited to invite you to a FREE event at the Morton Arboretum on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, from 7-9 PM, hosted by the Biology Division of the ACCA consortium.

One of the featured speakers, Spencer Campbell, is not only a current employee at the Morton Arboretum but also a Dominican University alum (class of 2012). Spencer will present on current and applied work in Plant Sciences at Dominican University. Following his talk, Christine Carrier (also from the Morton Arboretum) will discuss the various opportunities for undergraduate students to get involved in research and internships at the Arboretum.

We’re also thrilled to share that the Office of Career Programming and Employer Relations has arranged a shuttle to and from the Morton Arboretum. This shuttle will run if there is enough interest from Dominican University students who need transportation. If you would like to use the shuttle, please contact Wendy Arteaga (warteaga@dom.edu) in CPER to express your interest. If we don’t have enough interest for a shuttle, I will help coordinate carpooling.

Attached is the flyer, which includes a QR code for RSVP, but you can also RSVP directly using this link: https://forms.office.com/r/HSu0bkQ8ZB. RSVPing is encouraged but not required.

We hope you’ll consider attending this exciting event! Just let the gatehouse attendant know you’re attending the talk when you arrive. If you can arrive before sundown, it’s also a perfect time to enjoy the beautiful fall foliage at the Arboretum. Light refreshments will be provided.

If you have any questions about the event, please feel free to reach out to Dr. Anderson at canderson@dom.edu .
