Jennifer Hovanec MLIS ’11, circulation manager at Northbrook Public Library, has been named the new executive director of the La Grange Public Library.
The library’s board of directors approved Hovanec’s hiring on Dec. 27 following a national search that began in September.
Hovanec is scheduled to begin her new position on Jan. 25.
“We are thrilled Jenn will be leading our team,” said Elizabeth Crewe, La Grange Public Library Board President, in a statement on the library’s website. “Her broad background in libraries and management, along with her infectious enthusiasm for the patrons and staff, make her a great fit for the La Grange community. We look forward to working with her.”Hovanec also serves as a trustee on the Villa Park Public Library Board. Her previous work experience includes positions with the Calumet City Public Library, Indian Trails Public Library District in Wheeling, Deerfield Public Library, New Lenox Public Library District and Prairie Trails Public Library in Burbank.
