Dominican’s Support of Hispanic Students Featured in College and Career Guide

Dominican University’s efforts to enhance Hispanic student success were highlighted in a special edition of the bilingual suburban newspaper Reflejos.

The Reflejos College and Career Guide, published on Oct. 21, featured a piece, in Spanish, on Dominican’s new federal Title V grant, entitled “Avanzamos: Advancing Dominican University from Hispanic-Enrolling to Hispanic-Serving.” The grant’s purpose is to close equity gaps by creating additional career readiness opportunities for the 63% of Dominican University undergraduates who identify as Hispanic.

The College and Career Guide also included a column from Dominican President Dr. Glena G. Temple. The column, published in Spanish and in English, shared just some of the ways the university has focused on the advancement of Hispanic students.

It also spoke of the university’s pride in being a federally-recognized Hispanic-Serving Institution. Both pieces can be read here.
