Library and Information Sciences Alum Named Fellow of Special Libraries Association

August 19, 2022

Eugene Giudice MLIS ’07 was recently named a fellow of the Special Libraries Association, a nonprofit global organization providing support and career development for information professionals.

SLA fellows act as mentors to those who are entering the library profession.

“I accept this award in trust because it is up to each of us to act as trustees of this profession,” Giudice said in a statement. “Being a trustee of the profession means turning it over to the librarians and other information professionals who will come after and support the institutions that sustain the profession.”

A law librarian and published author, Giudice also serves as chair of the SLA Legal Community. He is currently the senior research services training specialist with the law firm of Dentons US LLP in Chicago and lives in the Edgebrook community.

In 2021, Giudice received the Advocate of the Year Award from the Private Law Librarians and Information Professionals Special Interest Section of the American Association of Law Libraries.

The annual award is given to a librarian who shows leadership and excellence in advocating for law libraries and law librarians.
