English and Spanish Major Pens Articles for Modern Language Association Internship

Sofia Olvera-Sandoval, a senior with a double-major in English and Spanish studies, penned articles offering tips for a healthy work-from-home life and standing out in a job search as part of a summer internship with the Modern Language Association.

Olvera-Sandoval’s articles “How to Prioritize Your Physical and Mental Health When Working from Home,” and “How to Stand Out in Your Job Search During and After Your Academic Career,” are featured on joblist.mla.org/articles.

A member of Dominican University’s Honors Program, Olvera Sandoval is a Gill-Davlin Award recipient and co-founder of Pueblo Leído, an organization supporting and building community for Latinx students in the English department.

She is also the recipient of the 2022 St. Catherine Medal Award from the Kappa Gamma Pi National Catholic Honors Society
