Current Job

I am currently in the Finance Development Program at The Allstate Corporation. The rotational program had me in Internal Audit as a Staff Auditor for a year, and now my second and final rotation is as a Financial Analyst in the Treasury & Planning Department.

Where did you intern while completing your degree?

My internship was at Allstate as a Financial Analyst Intern in their Allstate Brand Operations Department where I assisted with monthly reporting and then helped at the beginning of their planning season when the internship was at its end. This internship was during the summer of 2019 going into my senior year.

What was your favorite part about the Career Development (BCDP) program?

My favorite part of the BCDP program was a specific activity we did during one of the required BCDP courses. It was a mock-interview event with real employers that was the culmination of all the resume building, networking, and interview skills we had learned throughout the semester of the sophomore level class. This event was a way to get great experience interviewing with real employers and ultimately networking with all the different companies.

What did you learn from the BCDP program?

I learned a great deal of things from the BCDP program including understanding my professional strengths and weaknesses, building a resume, building a professional network, and then creating and maintaining that network on online platforms such as LinkedIn and Indeed. I would say that the relationships with the professors is an important part of the BCDP program as they are former or current working professionals with amazing backgrounds of their own.

What do you want prospective students to know about Dominican and the career development program?

The BCDP program is a unique opportunity for students as this is a combination of tremendous professors with a long history in their respective fields and in a smaller school setting where you get a great deal of attention from those professors.
