Current Job

I am currently a Senior Audit Associate at KPMG.

Where did you intern while completing your degree?

I interned at BKD, LLP as an audit intern during my last semester of college (Spring 2019). A huge shout out to my advisor Anne Drougas who was able to work my school schedule for my last semester in order for me to accept the internship which would require 50+ hours of work a week. Thanks to her hard work and dedication, I was able to complete the internship and graduate on time.

What was your favorite part about the Career Development (BCDP) program?

I came in as a transferred student from Wright Community College and fell in love with the business school and especially the BCDP program. From the start of my education at Dominican I had a lot of available resources to help me succeed, such as mentoring from the executives in residence, help with my resume and LinkedIn page (special thanks to Executive in Residence Mike Kiyosaki), mock interviews, networking events, professional headshots, and help with finding internships and having a job lined up before graduation. These are only a few of the resources that were available, but that was my favorite part of the BCDP program.

What did you learn from the BCDP program?

The BCDP program taught me all the soft and hard skills that played a huge role in having a full-time job before graduating and have helped me progress in my career as I have now taken on a higher role. As I continue to progress in my career, I will always have Dominican and the BCDP program to thank.

What do you want prospective students to know about Dominican and the career development program?

As a transfer student, from my two years at Dominican I really wished I would have attended Dominican all four years. I had a great experience with my professors, mostly because they were all very passionate about the roles they played in our life. They were not just teaching us from a book, they were giving us life lessons every single day and pushing us to be the best versions of ourselves at all times. In addition, the resources available from the BCDP program really guarantee you success as long as you put in the work. If you put in the effort and use the resources available, you will succeed.
