Jamie Shaw
Executive Director of Career Programs and Employer Relations
In her position as Dominican University’s Executive Director of Career Programs and Employer Relations, Jamie Shaw oversees the department, as well as a $3 million U.S. Department of Education Title V grant designed to advance educational opportunities for Hispanic students, specifically relating to career development and financial literacy. Shaw has extensive experience serving first-generation college students, having spent over 13 years working in higher education at institutions committed to social justice. Shaw regularly presents on topics related to career development, embedding professional development into curricula, and employer engagement. Shaw was a 2019 Leadership Lab Fellow through the Oak Park-River Forest Community Foundation, nominated for Dominican University’s Davlin Diversity Leadership Award in 2019, and nominated in 2021 for Crain’s Chicago’s 40 under 40. In 2023, the Career Programs team was awarded the Cooperative Education and Internship Association (CEIA) Best Practices Award and the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) 2023 Career Services Excellence Award. Dominican’s program was selected based on its four required career development courses, required internships, and built-in mentorship through the Executives and Experts in Residence program led by Shaw. She holds a bachelor’s degree from DePaul University and a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration and Policy from Northwestern University.

Bianca Beteta
Assistant Director of Internships and Externships
Bianca first joined the Office of Career Programs & Employer Relations in January 2021 on the Title V Part A2 grant. She works to place DU students in internships and externships (job shadowing opportunities) in addition to facilitating enrollment into DCDP courses. Bianca is also available to meet with students on Handshake or in person to review their resumes, discuss career goals, and direct them towards the Experts and Executives in Residence.
Bianca is a double alum of Dominican University’s Brennan School of Business, with a BA in International Business (2020) and an MBA (2023). Bianca is an MBTI Certified Practitioner and a member of CEIA and NACE.

Assistant Director, Student Employment & Internships
Eric Borsche is the Assistant Director of Student Employment & Internships in Dominican University’s Office of Career Programs & Employer Relations. Eric is responsible for the management of on-campus, off-campus, and micro-internships, as well as Non-Employment-Based Opportunities (NEBO), part-time student employment jobs, and work study jobs (both on and off campus).
Before joining Dominican University, Eric was a Learning and Development Manager at McMaster-Carr Supply where he created and facilitated training content for all current employees and new hires. In addition to the Learning and Development role, Eric also held roles as an Ergonomist Coach, Process Trainer, and Quality Control Specialist. He went back to school in 2017 to earn his MBA from Elmhurst University with a specialization in Data Science. Eric has a passion for improving processes that deliver measurable, data-driven results.

Denise Guzman is the STEM Career Programs & Internship Coordinator. She joined Dominican University in May 2022. Denise has over 10 years of experience working in higher education. Denise worked as a Completion and Transition Specialist at Triton College in the Adult Education department where she advised ESL and GED students. Prior to Triton College, Denise served as the Career and Transfer Center Manager at St. Augustine College, where she assisted students with career advising, career exploration, transfer assistance, and job placement. Denise has a Doctor of Education in Leadership in Adult Learning and Higher Education degree from Aurora University, a Master of Arts in Communications and Training and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, both from Governors State University. Denise is a passionate student advocate who enjoys guiding students through their academic path.

Project Assistant
Jennifer is the Project Assistant for Title V, Part A2 & B. Jennifer assists the team and the office of Career Programs & Employer Relations with office management and record keeping. Jennifer is excited to be managing two new programs including Suit-Up and The Headshot program. Suit-Up provides new or gently used business attire to students attending job interviews. The Headshot program provides on-demand headshot for students to use for LinkedIn profiles, Handshake profiles and e-Portfolios.
