Welcome to Dominican University’s Office of Career Programs & Employer Relations. Our mission is to ensure all Dominican University students have equitable access to professional development experiences, employment networks, and experiential learning opportunities in order to achieve success after graduation.
We seek to be a leader in career and professional development through our framework of ERA: Experience, Reflect, Accomplish.
EXPERIENCEOur students experience career and professional development through activities like career fairs, mock interviews, employer virtual visits, and more. We also promote short-term and long-term professional experiences including internships, externships, and external engagement through partnerships with local and national employers.
We strive to provide reflection through curriculum-based professional development that promotes growth in soft skills, self-advocacy, and specialized skills.
ACCOMPLISHWe define career success as the attainment of a full-time job requiring a bachelor’s degree, graduate school attendance, or placement in a professional internship or volunteer experience. Starting day one, we accompany students on their career journey to promote early awareness of career interests and goals. Our students accomplish their career goals through:
- Personalized, industry-specific career mentoring from executive-level leaders
- Curricular alignment with industry standards and employer needs
